One of the superior objectives for the company is operation in a manner that respects the environmental aspects. In relation to this, investment activities undertaken by the company encompass application of state-of-the-art solutions having positive environmental impact, including use of modern, energy-efficient machines and equipment thanks to which the energy intensity of the entire production process is largely decreased. Pro-environmental stance of the company, combined with honest involvement of the employees, are consistent with all proper provisions and regulations regarding environmental protection which form a part of the company’s environmental policy. The confirmation of this is holding by the company of Environmental Management Certificate compliant with standard ISO 14001 within the scope of production of cardboard packaging with multi-colour print.

Moreover, the company constantly monitors the impact of current activity onto the environment and takes care to develop the awareness of the managing personnel and the employees in this respect. By proper management of processes, monitoring and modernisation of production methods of cardboard packaging by applying technologies and equipment that influences environmental protection, the volume of post-production waste generated by the company is minimised on an ongoing basis. In the planned investments, the company anticipates introduction of subsequent solutions minimising generation of extra waste (e.g. by recycling the waste paper and film generated during the production process).

An important element of long-term development strategy of the company is also the company’s personnel. For the purpose of providing all people with possibilities of equal participation in economic development, all of the company’s activities within the scope of management and development of human resources are conducted on the basis of a non-discrimination principle. Moreover, Zakład Produkcji Opakowań “Karton-Pak” S.A. is involved in assistance to the local community by sponsoring local cultural events (e.g. sponsorship of concerts for the Province Hospital in Zielona Góra organised by “Bam Bam”), assistance to local institutions (e.g. Municipal Public Library in Nowa Sól, Music School in Nowa Sól, Primary School No. 1 and 5 in Nowa Sól, Primary School in Lubieszów, educational centre), sports organisations (e.g. Sports Club “Antoni”, assistance for the “Chi RYU” association), as well as assistance to national organisations (e.g. Caritas, annual support for the Association of Accountants).
